Local Counsel Services

Need a “local” attorney to assist you in your eastern Pennsylvania case? Get the home team advantage.

Newman Williams lawyers routinely serve as local counsel to out-of-state law firms and lawyers unfamiliar with local practices and procedures.

We are an AV-rated firm with an office in Monroe County, PA. We practice throughout eastern Pennsylvania including in Carbon, Monroe, Northampton, and Pike Counties, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

While all of these counties and federal courts are geographically close, their verdict histories are diverse as are their local procedures. We can help you navigate local rules.

Our lawyers have conducted Continuing Legal Education seminars on local practices and procedures. Our litigation partner, Jerry Geiger, is on the lawyers’ advisory committee for the Middle District federal court system and on the Civil Rules Committee for the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. Two of our shareholders are past bar presidents.

We understand the local rules and are familiar with the practices specific to local judges and magistrates. We have the ability to advise and assist at every level of state and federal courts in eastern Pennsylvania. Our firm includes two federal court mediators knowledgeable in case valuations and local procedures.

As your eastern Pennsylvania counsel, we can:

  • Act as attorneys of record;
  • Prepare and file motions;
  • Take and coordinate depositions;
  • Assist in case evaluations;
  • Assist in jury selection;
  • Advise on strategy and local rules.

Newman Williams welcomes the opportunity to partner with national, international and other out-of-state law firms in the service of their clients with needs for legal representation in eastern Pennsylvania.

Contact Litigation Partner, Jerry Geiger, to discuss how we can assist you with your litigation needs. Just need some quick advice? Give Jerry a call. Happy to help.
